Legacies…

There are many loves and legacies in this photograph. The main subject is my youngest child and the greatest love in focus. But she is sitting on green grass that covers the rich red dirt of the family farm in Frio County, Texas. She is holding a quail from a boom year after too many years of bust, and in her lap is a Ruger Red Label 20 gauge that she will grow into and use to hunt quail and dove. These places and activities have been in my family for over 4 generations. The most important goal of my estate plan will be to protect and provide for my children. The second goal is make certain that they become the 5th generation to love and enjoy the farm and all the ways it provides for our family and community. There are photos of each generation before me just like this: a small child, some quarry that will be eaten later, a fine gun, and the Texas soil that sustains them all. This is a snapshot of why I do what I do, and why I want to help you with your legacies and loves.
